Full height shutters are practical, versatile and can be styled in almost any way. Generally Plantation shutters are available in four main styles. Cafe style shutters, Full height shutters, Tier on Tier shutters and Solid panel shutters.
Full Height Style Plantation Shutters
Full height Plantation shutters as the title suggests are shutters that cover the full height of the window in one or more panels, as seen on the right. You can find more pictures of full height shutters in the galleries of shutters we have supplied and installed.
It is an elegant yet simple style has the most stunning effect on taller, larger windows giving that instant wow factor.
Normally on full height Plantation shutters and Solid panel shutters there will be a divider rail inserted.
The divider rail serves two purposes. Firstly it provides extra strength on larger panels to prevent warping and twisting of the shutters. Secondly it offers the user more versatility of control. By this I mean the top and bottom sections of each panel, above and below the divider rail operate independently of each other. This is similar to the Tier on Tier style of shutters.
Open the top set of louvre's to allow the light in and keep the bottom closed for privacy it's your call.
The Full Height Plantation shutters look stunning with the larger louvre sizes such as the 64mm, 89mm and the 115mm.
Also available in solid raised panel, moulded panels, and shaker style panels.
Contrary to popular belief the MDF Full height Plantation Shutter is our most popular and durable shutter. MDF shutters are stable, do not warp and have a polyurethane coating to protect against knocks and scratches. Unless you are looking for a wood stain finish or a special shape I would recommend the MDF full height shutters every time.
They are great for patio and french doors, even as room dividers and always look stunning, a beautiful style, a beautiful shutter.
