Gentle cleaning
Dust with a soft microfibre cloth. For cleaning, use a slightly damp microfibre cloth and dry afterwards. Do not soak shutters, spray cleaner directly onto them or use strong detergents, bleach or abrasive materials.
Use supplied touch-up paint or wax only for suitable minor chips and scuffs, following the advice given at installation. If panels or louvres become difficult to operate, contact us rather than forcing them.
Our warranty periods
- Hardwood and Premium Hardwood: 5 years.
- Hardwood ABS and Composite: 10 years.
- Blackout blinds: 2 years. This applies to the blind component; the shutter retains its own material warranty.
- Aluminium shutters: 10 years.
Periods start at installation. The warranty is for the original purchaser at the original installation address and is not transferable. Valid warranty repairs include labour and travel. The warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship; we will assess a covered fault and arrange repair or replacement of the affected shutter or component at no cost to you.
Contact us with details and photographs if a problem arises. For repairs outside warranty, we assess the work and agree a price before proceeding. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
The warranty does not cover accidental damage, misuse, unauthorised alterations or normal wear and tear. See our aluminium warranty below and keep your quotation and final receipt with your installation details.

Ten-year aluminium shutter warranty
Our aluminium shutters carry a ten-year warranty covering defects in materials or workmanship. If a covered defect is found during the warranty period, Shutter Master will arrange repair or replacement of the affected shutter or shutters at no cost to you, including the labour and travel required for the covered work.
