A traditional panelled look
Solid panels give a different finish from adjustable louvres. Open them to reveal the window, or close them for privacy. Where suitable, separate upper and lower sections provide additional flexibility.
Designed for your opening
We check the window, panel clearance and suitable material options during your consultation. A blackout blind can be discussed separately where the configuration allows.

Solid panels offer a different appearance from louvred shutters, with an uninterrupted surface when closed. They are especially attractive alongside period features and traditional interiors.
Light control comes from opening the panels rather than adjusting individual louvres. We discuss panel divisions, available finishes and opening space to suit the way you use the room.
Your questions, answered
How do solid panels control daylight?
Solid panels have no adjustable louvres. You control daylight by opening the panels; closing them gives an uninterrupted panelled finish and privacy. Think about where the open panels will sit in the room.
Are solid shutters the same as blackout shutters?
No. Solid panels and shutters combined with a blackout blind are different products. If darkness is your main priority, we discuss the opening, fitting details and expected light reduction rather than promising complete blackout from solid panels alone.

More questions about your shutters
How much light do blackout shutters block?
Ordinary louvred shutters reduce light when closed, but they are not a complete blackout covering: light can enter around the panels and between louvres. Our blackout option combines shutters with a manually operated blackout blind behind them for stronger light reduction. We assess the opening and explain the expected result rather than promise a completely light-free room.
Will shutters make my room dark during the day?
You control the light by tilting the louvres or opening the panels. Frames and louvres occupy part of the opening, so some daylight is reduced even with the louvres open. Café-style shutters leave the upper window uncovered; tier-on-tier shutters allow the upper panels to open separately. We help you balance daylight and privacy.
