Shutter Advice
Practical advice to help you choose and care for your shutters.
Start with the way you use the room
For privacy at street level, consider café-style or tier-on-tier layouts. For a complete window covering, explore full-height shutters. Door openings need particular care over panel clearance and access.
Compare samples before choosing a material
Photographs do not always show differences between materials. Compare finishes, options, usual delivery and warranty during your consultation.
What does a shutter estimate include?
Our one-window estimator gives a rounded starting point including installation. Shapes, tracks, finish and location require a tailored quotation.
More installation stories, product news and practical advice will be added as the site develops.
Let’s find the right shutters for your home
We bring samples, discuss the design, measure your windows and prepare a quotation including installation. No measurements needed beforehand.
Email our teamAdvice for planning your shutters
Before choosing, consider whether you want privacy while keeping daylight, a full covering or access to part of the glass. Material samples and a discussion of the opening are more useful than comparing photographs alone.
Keeping your shutters looking their best
Dust regularly and wipe with a slightly damp microfibre cloth when needed. Avoid strong detergents and bleach. If a panel or louvre does not move normally, ask us for advice rather than forcing it.
