Compare full-height, café and tier-on-tier layouts

Full-height shutters give louvre control across the opening. Café-style shutters cover the lower part while leaving the upper glass uncovered. Tier-on-tier shutters have separate upper and lower panels that can open independently; each section needs suitable opening space.

If you want separate upper and lower light control without separate panels, ask about split louvre control within a full-height design. We explain the differences using samples and the measurements of your windows.

Keep window access in mind

We consider the space needed for shutters to open, access to locks and handles, and nearby furniture. Tell us whether you regularly open the sashes for ventilation or cleaning so we can discuss a practical arrangement. Suitability depends on the individual opening; we do not assume every sash window takes the same frame.

Materials and room use

Our current ranges include Hardwood, Hardwood ABS, Premium Hardwood and Composite. Compare samples, delivery estimates and warranties alongside the room’s moisture exposure and chosen layout. For bedrooms, a compatible manual blackout blind may be an option, subject to fitting requirements; shutters alone do not guarantee complete darkness.

We offer a free home consultation where the project is within our agreed service arrangements. We bring samples, take accurate measurements and prepare a quotation including installation. You do not need to measure beforehand.
